Pipelines
Our Pipelines team is responsible for the calculation and design of pipeline transport systems for fluids and gases, in accordance with applicable standards (ASME B31.4 / B31.8). Their responsibilities include the following tasks:
1. Route and Alignment Design
We define pipeline routes considering topographic, geotechnical, environmental, social,
and regulatory aspects. We evaluate technical and economic alternatives, incorporating safety, maintenance accessibility, and impact minimization criteria.
4. Detailed Engineering and Special Crossings
We develop detailed engineering for pipeline crossings over roads, rivers, railways, and other infrastructure. We propose appropriate construction methods, such as horizontal directional drilling (HDD), boring, and trenching — always respecting applicable regulations and minimizing geotechnical or environmental risks.
2. Hydraulic and Flow Calculations
We perform transport capacity calculations, pressure loss, fluid velocity, hydraulic transients, and pressure analysis to ensure operability and system integrity. We use specialized software such as Pipesim, OLGA, AFT Impulse, or similar tools.
5. Construction and Assembly Supervision
During project execution, our field support teams oversee the correct installation of pipelines, ensuring compliance with drawings, welds, non-destructive testing (NDT), coatings, and hydrostatic tests. We ensure all activities meet applicable standards and codes (API 1104, ASME B31.8/B31.4, among others).
3. Material and Component Selection
We define pipeline materials (diameter and wall thickness), pipeline type, coatings, cathodic protection, and more. We specify system components including valves, tees, connections, scrapers, and pump or compressor systems — based on corrosion, temperature, pressure, and fluid compatibility criteria.
