Piping

Our Piping team plays a key role in generating all the required documentation for the design, calculation, and development of piping systems used for the safe transport of fluids and gases in industrial facilities. This includes material selection and specification, routing and layout of each line, stress analysis, and all documentation needed for construction and assembly — including field supervision during fabrication and installation. Their responsibilities include the following tasks:

1. Piping System Design

We design piping systems for fluid transport such as gas, oil, steam, water, and chemicals. This includes defining routings, diameters, materials, and proper supports — taking into account pressure, temperature, corrosion, and space constraints. We use specialized software and BIM methodology (such as CadWorx Plant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Caesar II, among others) to model systems in compliance with international standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).

4. Development of Discipline Documentation

Using 3D software and BIM methodology, we generate detailed documents such as plant layouts, sections, isometrics, and material take-offs (MTOs) for prefabrication and field installation. These documents include dimensional and detailed information about materials, accessories, supports, welding, and all components in each process line.

2. Layout Definition and Design

In coordination with the Process team and other disciplines, the piping team develops the plant layout in the early design stage. This document defines equipment and piping arrangement considering process, constructability, spacing codes, access, safety, environment, operability, and maintainability. The main objective is to ensure process and production efficiency through sustainable, functional solutions over the plant’s lifetime.

3. Stress and Flexibility Analysis

We perform stress and flexibility analysis to ensure the piping system can withstand operating conditions without failure. These studies are essential to prevent problems related to thermal expansion, external loads, or vibrations, thus preserving the mechanical integrity of the system over time.

5. Material Selection, Calculation, and Specification

We develop and verify piping class specifications (Piping Class), defining and selecting materials, valves, flanges, gaskets, and fittings according to process needs, operating conditions, and applicable standards. This step ensures chemical compatibility, mechanical strength, and system durability.

6. Field Supervision and Support

Our site support teams assist during the construction and assembly phases. They validate engineering deliverables, manage on-site adjustments, and oversee quality control and compliance throughout project execution.
