Plant
CO2 and H2S removal with amines for 220 MMSCFD (6.0 MMSM), water and HC dew point adjustment (mechanical refrigeration), gasoline stabilization, and pipeline injection.
Project type
New installation, EPC, carried out in collaboration with Exterran and Kaiser.
Investment amount
Over USD 150 million
The Itaú Plant contributes 5 MMm³ per day, increasing national production by 10% and strengthening both the domestic market and exports to Argentina and Brazil.
Hytech developed the Extended Basic and Detailed Engineering package, including fabrication drawings for approximately 30 pieces of equipment.
Additionally, Hytech designed, fabricated, and installed on-site the internal components of all separators, including trays for three columns, dual-pocket vane packs, and liquid coalescers. As part of the process, We redesigned the inlet and cold separators to prevent liquid carryover without increasing project costs, and the hot oil circuit was optimized to protect the integrity of the amine under high temperatures.

The gas-to-gas heat exchangers were also redesigned, resulting in a weight reduction from 300 to 240 tons and an 8% increase in heat transfer area compared to the original design.
Our engineers managed the technical procurement and supervised equipment manufacturing at various locations: Dubai (UAE), Aldridge (United Kingdom), Houston (USA), and Buenos Aires (Argentina). Hytech carried out the modularization in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), and transportation to Tarija was coordinated. The scope also included Construction Supervision, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up.
To support strategic planning and decision-making, We conducted marketing studies, CAPEX and OPEX analyses, environmental impact assessments, social and site studies, and a comprehensive economic evaluation. All of this made it possible to maximize value and ensure a cost-efficient solution for the client.
