Cost Estimation
Our Cost Estimation team is responsible for analyzing, calculating, and projecting the costs associated with the various stages of design, manufacturing, construction, and plant operation. Their work is key to defining the most effective strategy for the project, supporting financial planning, and preparing competitive proposals.
Thanks to our comprehensive project vision and technical expertise, we support our clients from the early stages to anticipate critical needs, adapt engineering to the availability of key supplies, and ensure the timely delivery of long-lead items (LLI) that impact the project’s critical path.
Our specific tasks include:
1. Multilevel Cost Estimates
We prepare conceptual, preliminary, definitive, and control estimates, depending on the project’s level of development. We apply recognized methodologies (such as AACE International) to ensure consistency and traceability throughout each stage.
To achieve this, we use up-to-date databases with market prices, historical data from previous projects, and vendor quotes to ensure that estimates reflect the sector’s current economic reality.
4. Evaluation of Third-Party Proposals
When required by the client, we also conduct comparative and economic evaluations of technical and commercial offers submitted by third parties.
2. Item and Resource Breakdown
We break down projects into detailed components (materials, equipment, labor, contractors, services, etc.) and analyze the resources required for execution — considering productivity, schedule, location, logistics, and possible interferences.
5. Risk and Contingency Assessment
We identify uncertainty factors and apply appropriate contingency margins to account for technical, logistical, contractual, and financial risks. This allows for better preparation against potential budget deviations.
3. Bid Pricing Sheets for Tenders
We prepare detailed pricing sheets to participate in construction tenders, incorporating the technical and commercial requirements defined in the bid documents. This is fundamental to ensuring clear, competitive, and compliant offers.
6. Technical Alternatives Comparison
We collaborate with engineering teams to compare design alternatives from a cost-efficiency perspective, contributing critical insights for selecting solutions that reduce costs without compromising quality or safety.
7. Reporting and Decision Support
We prepare clear, structured reports for technical, financial, and management teams, supporting the development of business cases, tenders, contracts, and investment plans.
In summary, the Cost Estimation team provides the economic tools necessary to plan, bid, and execute projects efficiently and profitably — aligning technical feasibility with financial sustainability.
